It’s the little things hat make the difference. New decals. Replacing the mouldy caulking. Replacing plastic cup holders with stainless steel etc. They were the scuppers when I bought it. It is dry stored so I removed the bottom paint and gave them a polish.Looks great! Funny how the stripes and decals are probably produced for next to nothing but make all the difference when they're brand new looking and replacing the old cracked, chipped ones. Makes a huge difference. I see you replaced the rear scuppers with possibly stainless ones? Mind sharing what you used? I think I'm going to either replace the original plastic ones I have myself or have the local GW dealer do it for me as I don't want to have an issue while on my mooring buoy for weeks on end this coming summer.
Great work and the attention to detail. The two stainless spots on the bow can you post better pics and did you add those?
No. Acetone then ceramic coat. The boat looks great! Did you replace the rub rail? It looks brand new.
KY Grady sourced some on your side of the world. Thanks , I cannot find them anywhere
Hello Brother can you please explain what you did on the rub rail, did you apply ceramic by hand. what brand did you use. I was going to replace mine, after see yours changed my mind. Thanks Have Fun and Stay SafeAfter a long but enjoyable process the detailing is finally completed. Compounding, with areas of wet sanding has bought back to original gelcoat colour. Replaced all decals and hullstripes. The ceramic coat has given it a great gloss and hopefully long term protection, considering the boat is stored indoors.
She has a new name. The “Shady Lady” was my partner’s nickname for it as we waited for it to be shipped from the US. A bit of googling revealed it was also a US crewed B17 Liberator bomber that flew out of Darwin with the RAAF during WW2. That fitted with my interest in WW2 aircraft. The “Shady Lady” was a pretty lucky plane as well. I used the original font from the B17.
An interesting read.

Gave it a good clean with acetone. Then I used Gyeon Q2R Gelcoat Ceramic Coat. Just wipe on, let sit for a minute or so and wipe off. Used on all the gelcoat as well.Hello Brother can you please explain what you did on the rub rail, did you apply ceramic by hand. what brand did you use.
