Dungeness!! My favorite crab. Looks like you had a power davit. That makes it really fun instead of a workout.

I'm liking my Yammy fine. I just reproped it because the prop off the old 3.3 liter engine was too much for the higher gear ratio of the 4.2. I haven't got to splash it yet but I think maybe this Friday we will get a chance.

Boy, that's some might good eating. Those are just the right size for the eating part. By the way Mr.crab, I ran that 17 pitch prop today and it is an improvement. It definitely got me up out of the hole quicker/easier. The last trip I averaged 2.6 mpg and this trip it was 3.0. I did have a little less weight this time though. What disappointed me was that I didn't get the RPM increase I was hoping for. With the 19 pitch I could only turn 4800. With the 17 it would only turn 5000. I am still thinking that I am not getting a fully open throttle on the engine. I am going look into that next. At 5000 rpm the boat was doing 40 mph which gives 13 % slip which isn't bad. This boat should do high 40s with this 225.

My motors turn 5200 ,5300 with three bars 36 knots. If I bring them up to 6 bars turn 5500, 5600 41 knots
At 5500 is max hp. This is with normal load , close to full fuel as long as I hit over 5000 they shouldn’t be over
prop I think.

Yeah, I don't know what pitch props you have but they seem like they are in the ball park. I ran a prop slip calculation with your speed figures using 17 pitch and it came up 2.88% so evidently they aren't 17 pitch.

I had my wife with me and she hates to go fast so I was only able to run up to full throttle for a few seconds before she threatened with the fish knocker so there was no time to play with my trim. I have my trim gauge calibrated so 3 bars puts the anti-ventilation plate parallel with the keel and that is where I had it when I found 5K rpm to be WOT. No doubt if I trimmed on up a bit more to fine tune it, the rpms would have been a little higher. If the sea state is calm enough to run fast I normally trim up in increments till I sense a little porpoising and then trim back down till that stops. I didn't have the time yesterday. It was too rough outside and too busy on the inside. The snowbirds are still clogging things up a bit here, although it is less than a month or so ago.

Went fishing yesterday, sturgeon 54 1/2 “ 87 lbs still not sure of my prop size. Thinking motors should hit
5700 to 6000 rpm, but did release the fish.
