Picked up the GW yesterday. What an experience! It was one of the windiest and roughest days I've seen in Pensacola Bay. It's a new boat so I was dreading having to go all the way home at trolling speed in those waves. Fortunately, the engine already had 10 hours on it. Full speed ahead! Anyway, man this thing cut through the waves like butter! The main reason we were in the market for a bigger boat is because we've missed a lot of boat days over the years simply because the water was too rough. Our little SeaFox 216DC just isn't built for any kind of chop. We originally wanted a 27' boat, but personally I don't want dual engines. When I picked it up, in the back of my mind I was concerned that this 235 might not be big enough....but I was wrong. I read all the articles and watched all the videos about the SeaV2 hulls, and it performed as advertised. I was blown away. Couldn't be happier about the purchase. The ride quality is simply magnificent and the fit and finish is superb. It could use two more speakers in the aft cabin, but other than that it's perfect for my family.

The only issue is that I need to get a new dock hose. I've been using a stretchy hose to clean my boat and flush the engine. Because it's stretchy It doesn't have great pressure and it wouldn't properly flush the engine. It worked fine on the ole Suzuki 200. I guess these big Yamaha 300s require more pressure. Anyone else ever have this issue?

Regarding the hose: get a NEVER-KINK and a hose reel...

The bigger the Outboard, the more pressure it needs to make it "pee." out the telltale.

My 350's take a LOT of pressure.

I found that out. Got a new hose today and it works much better.

It's not the pressure per se. It is a question of flow rate.
The bigger the engine the bigger the water jacket space and exhaust channels . If the hose water flow rate is less than the rate that water drains out of the lower unit, the water column never gets high enough to make it to the telltale or gets there but barely fills the plumbing, hence no pee or a weak pee stream.

If you are at your home dock, you have what you have pressure-wise if you are on city water. Sometimes pressure and flow is affected by how many of your neighbors are using water at the same time you do. That will vary with peak usage times on any given day.

I think you are alright anyway. I had that problem in Florida where I had a weak stream out of my Yamaha 350's. If the water is coming out the telltale however anemic, you are still flushing the engine internally. Yes, more water is better, but be glad you have enough pressure to make it pee something.

Very large bucket/Tupperware barrel. Congrats on the new boat!

Sorry here as well..I wasn't being sarcastic; I wasn't sure you'd seen his lift pic, and I had the same dilemma in Florida where I had low pressure at times. I seriously considered trying to strap some bucket or something to the transom to submerge the lower unit, but never came up with any realistic way to do it.
As I mentioned, if he's getting even a weak stream out of the telltale, the water is still circulating through the block.

I believe a pump is available for homes with low water pressure. Perhaps putting one on the dock might be a solution.

I ended up getting a much stiffer and shorter hose. Pushes the water through, but it's just barely.
