Fisher Panda Generator issue

Hello Everyone
I have a 2014 376 Canyon. I have a Fisher Panda Generator and the control panel in the cabin is completely dead. I turn it on and nothing happens, no lights or anything turn on.

Does anyone have any idea if there are fuses somewhere that may have blown. Batteries are all charged up, everything else works on the boat except the generator. I don't mind taking stuff apart, but I was hoping someone could share a good ease starting point to get power to the control panel for the generator.

It is a Fisher Panda 4200 model.

I don't know where the fuses are in your boat but I can't imagine they're too hard to find - or maybe check in your owner's manual (or download it from GW's site). Knowing where the fuses are is an important thing to know. Check the fuse, first. But I have a feeling you're going to want to pull the panel and verify you have 12V coming to the panel. If so, then you likely have a dead panel.

I have not been to deep into the GW website. I will look there now. All my manuals are in the boat at the moment and it is about 2 hours away.

Your generator receives power from one of your battery switches. Not sure which one but the wiring diagram will tell you. There should be a fuse between your battery switch and the generator itself. The generator has several relays on it but that is not likely to be your problem. The generator control box also has fuses internally and the location of that box will be shown on your wiring diagrams. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

My input - you have a blown fuse going to (not in) the Generator. And I bet your 2014 panel is just fine.

Suggestion: Carefully remove the panel that your two Perko switches are mounted to.
Then look for a very thick RED cable that has a 100 amp fuse on it. It will be within a foot of the Perko.
The cable should (?) be labeled "Gen."

If the 100 amp is blown (my opinion), you need to do two things:
1. Go to West Marine or Amazon and get an exact replacement, and
2. With a wrench or socket on the drive shaft (facing port), TURN the generator crankshaft a bit (clockwise). Only after doing this do you want to try and start your generator. If you don't move the crankshaft a little bit, you will promptly blow that new 100 amp fuse you bought (ask me how I know!).

What happened to mine is the generator crankshaft stopped on a "hard spot". Because the compression is so strong, the starter can't move the crankshaft in that particular hard spot. It's a 1 in 360 degree thing. You can go years and never land on that one hard spot. But if you do, the 100 amp will blow as designed when you press the start button. And for safety sake, don't even think of jumping the 100 amp fuse or you will risk an electrical fire or damage to your cabling.

Now, if you locate and examine that 100 amp fuse, and it is not blown, nothing I said above applies to you! lol

Sorry for the delay in commenting back, but this flu stuff is hitting hard around us, and it caught me. I won't be back to the boat until first week of Feb, so I will take a look and will keep you posted.

I don't know if your genset requires a socket, but my earlier genset did not have a bolt head that fit a socket. You may need to grind a socket to fit a cross bar type of fitting. My genset is earlier, 2007.

I think you need to get into the writing owners/repair manuals. The adding the link for the fuse on the earlier post and this picture are extremely helpful and will be major time savers.
