I went fishing off of Oyster, VA. Saturday (JANUARY 13th in the 70's WOW) We saw what looked like a swarm of locusts from a distance, turned out to be thousands of gannetts, when we got closer it looked like a curtain of raining gannetts, diving for a huge school of bunker. Needless to say , there were Rockfish in pursuit, COWS... We had our limit of 8 Rockfish by 8:10 am. We were only keeping 40" fish, throwing 35" fish back for bigger. We caught 35-40 fish, not one short. Fish jumping everywhere, I've never seen a school like that! Great Day!!! We trolled by a 35" fish that was strugling on top reached down and spent several minutes reviving him and he swam off well. There was a tournament going on, Wonder if anyone else had the same experience? Went again on Sunday and caught a skate! Can't complain for January!!!
