Did a quick search and couldn't find any pictures. Just wanted to see if anyone else has installed foot on their hardtop and how they approached it. Did you end up installing it upside down etc?

Are you running radar also? Dome or array? If running a dome and it's mounted on a pedestal, the beam should clear the FLIR. If mounted upside down, I think you need software to flip the image over. The newer FLIR's may auto correct in which ever position it's mounted, not sure though. I Googled it and saw them mounted both ways.

I mounted mine right side up on port next to the radar. It works get.
Flir controller is mine on the overhead electronics box. PoE injector are in the starboard compartment behind the bulkhead in the midberth.

I currently have quantum radar sitting on top of 5-in pedestal. I know these pictures aren't the best but here's few from after I installed the quantum radar. And then here's another close-up of one from when I first bought the boat with the old radar.
My fear is obviously that it will obstruct the radar. I do have the ability to mount it upside down and the raymarine axiom has a software to flip the view internally. Let me know what you think after looking at the pictures I appreciate it.

Personal preference here. You have the height above it with radar on pedestal, I'd mount it right side up on the flat in front of radar.

I think you guys are correct, I just needed to make sure before the install. Last thing I wanted to do is have to change it all around after the fact. Thank you guys!

I used to have my FLIR mounted right next to a Furuno 4kw radome. Neither interfered with the other. Image was just fine.
In your photos it looks like the Flir will be before the radome. I'd mount the Flir dead center and in front of the radar.

I installed my flir on a riser directly behind the radar that was also already on a riser. If I had to do it again I would have bought one riser with 2 platforms.

Curious as to how you made out mounting the flIr in front of the radar on the top. I'm thinking of doing the same thing on a 2021 228. Do you have any pictures? Thanks In advance
