So i live in Nj and just purchased a 2002 Grady Marlin from Florida. Seller sent me title through mail. I went to the DMV today to switch the title into my name and the lady said whats the make? I said Grady White... she says no i need the manufacturer.... I said Grady White! She says but in the box for the make it says NTL. I had no idea what NTL stood for so she said i cant switch this title over you have to go to Florida and change this. After i left i googled it and saw that is the code for Grady White! Has anyone ever dealt with this or know what i should do before i go back? Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you get no responses, I can check on Wednesday what my title says. I registered my Grady from PA in NJ and I thought the same thing when I saw the title. I had no issues though. If you are anxious, just go again to a different agency orperson and come prepared with proof showing NTL is Grady white. It’s on the HIN also.

NTL is the uniformly assigned code for Grady White.

I'm looking at the "former" Florida Title for my boat. Right above the name of the Registered Owner, is a box that says "Odometer Status or Vessel Manufacturer or OH Use". In that box it should say "Grady-White Boats Inc."

Find another clerk.....

mine has said NTL since 1994 and it stands for NATIONAL BT WKS INC) I went through the same thing when I first bought it and the DMV up here in WA state says NTL has always been Grady to them they do not know why so I just go with it

NTL is part of the HIN and it is allocated to Grady White. The original Florida tittle of my boat has Grady White under the manufactures name .

we need to change the name of the forum to NTL or National Boat Works. it is on the HIN as others said. That's there so when the wood stringers rot and such that the coast guard and salvage people know what they are dealing with.:D. or it's there when the boat gets stolen and logos stripped from it..
