Florida vs Texas titles

Need some help. Texas requires VIN for boat, trailer, and both engines.

Florida does not require motors to be registered individually.

On the registration of Florida, it lists two engines but the id it assigns is not the same as the VIN.

Anyone know the correlation? USAA requires the VIN and am trying to explain this to a loan person that is not a boat person.

Boat and trailer will/should have a VIN. Motors will have a model number and serial number. That should be all you need. Have current owner take a pic of each sticker on each motor, you'll need the numbers anyway anytime you buy any parts and pieces for the motors.

Florida registrations will show the HIN for the hull and VIN for the trailer. Florida title for the boat will show the HIN.

A pencil tracing of the HIN off the back of the boat is generally sufficient.

Not sure of the TX and FL title rules but you seem to be talking about 2 things: registration and title.
Proving ownership of the trailer can be a real hassle.

I went thru this selling a boat and trailer in NJ going to someone in NC. NJ doesn't TITLE trailers they only register them.
NC required notarized bill of sale of trailer and, luckily, I still had the Certificate of Origin from the trailer dealer.
