Fishing this weekend. Receivers at Pier 39 are open and full of anchovy. The launch at Richmond marina is open. Halibut are being caught in the south bay, San Bruno and Alameda Rockwall. Unfortunately, the tides aren’t ideal.

Yes, launching early. See what happens. Got a plan to upgrade bait tank if my half scoop dies too quickly. The one issue I have with Grady White is the poor tank. What about us west coast fishermen, Grady?

Really need to figure it out before June Albacore.

I hear that. I need to get to a local lake and play around first and figure out my new electronics and verify my overhaul of my bait tank and wash down works and with no leaks.

Forever performing shakedown runs

5/24-5/26 I still have a reservation at Westside...still hoping it opens up. this is a good sign if Richmond is open.

Sunday I'm going to lake Amador for a shakedown and test.. If all goes good. It's on..

Three halibut keepers is a good day. And some good eating.

Back home. Fishing was good, day was better. 75* and no wind until it picked up in the afternoon for the 15 mile journey back to the ramp. Got a bit wet. Cleaned boat at marina and hauled her home. Cleaned a mess of fish, ended up with four halibut to 12lbs. Let’s see if I can post some shots.

Nice looking fish. Our halibut season on the ocean was closed this year. We're hearing possibility of a late opening in August so we're hopeful. Looks like I will be fishing it my new to me Sailfish. Woohoo.
