Tournament 192
Hi all. I have a 2000 tournament 192 and the fuel gauge is not working. I’m wondering if I should just install a fuel flow sensor. Is this a do it yourself kinda thing or should I get someone to do it. Any idea of range of cost?
Thanks.

I am not sure what you are asking. Are you asking about installing a fuel flow sensor or a new fuel level sender? For the fuel flow you also need a fuel management gauge. You will need to run cables from aft where the flow sensor would be mounted to the helm. If all you want is to have a working fuel level reading, you should go through the steps to check the gauge, wiring and sender, These have been documented a zillion times in this forum. If the testing is beyond you skill level, the installation of a fuel floe measuring system will probably also be. Swapping out the old sender for a new one may also pose a challenge if you are not mechanically inclined. In theory the job is fairly simple but there are a lot of things that go wrong while doing the job

The fuel gauge not working could just be the fuel sender. It is an easy job as long as you put the new one in the exact same orientation as the original. It is easy to strip the screw hole if it is not exact. Take a pictue and not the position of the wire on the sender or draw a line on the old sensor and the top of the tank to ensure you get in the correct position
