I have a 1984 Seafarer, and my fuel gauge is always in 1/4 tank I changed the sender and get the same result . I do get 12 volts at the gauge. I was told there is a switch for the fuel gauge. need help. Thanks in advance

Disconnect the wire at the gauge that goes to the sender. The gauge should read empty. Now ground that terminal, the gauge should read full. If this isn't what you see, the gauge is bad.
If it works, do the same at the tank sender: Disconnect the wire that goes to the gauge, gauge reads empty, ground the wire, gauge reads full.
If that works, verify that tank ground and sender ground are good.
If that doesn't work, sender is bad or stuck.
