Fuel Gauge

Hey guys,

1992 Gulfstream 232. As you know, there's one gauge on the dash and if you want to know how much fuel is in each, you flip a switch and it tells you. I think the main tank is reading correctly, but the front one is way off. Tank is full, but reading about 1/4.

Found a loose connection at the gauge that we fixed, but still reading wrong. Any thoughts? What would be the likely culprit here?

I have the same boat in a 96. I just pulled the sender out of the tank and the float is lodged up inside its housing. I ordered an other WEMA sender 14" and plan on replacing it tomorrow when Amazon arrives.

Keep in mind the screws need to be eased out and may be a little tough. Also, the holes on a sender are not symmetrical. It only fits one way so it will take a little patience lining the new ones up. Be sure to replace gasket too.

Also keep in mind that this is NOT a job to do with any kind of battery or plug in power tool. Either use a hand screwdriver or an air powered one.

One spark and your day will be ruined....
