Is there a fuel shut off valve/where is the fuel shut off valve in a 1996 Grady-White Islander 268?

At nearly 3 decades old, the answer could be yes or no. Most likely, "no". However you likely have an anti-siphon valve on the tank - but that's for emergencies and works automatically. If the fuel line has any dip in it, it should not be eliminated.

Just follow the fuel line to see if you have a shut-off valve. You could certainly add one if you wanted to, though. Are you having an issue?

Thank you for the response. No issue. I have to have an accessible fuel shut off valve to be in compliance with state of michigan charter boat laws. Any thoughts of where best to add? I am considering next to seperators

Thank you. I have had the boat for three years now and am absolutely impressed with it. I just need to make a few modifications to get it up to snuff with Michigan charter boat laws.

Unless Michigan law has a certain place it should be (or not be), I would put it where ever it makes the most sense for you - both in terms of using it and in regards to installing it.

Our old 1997 Islander with twins and 1 tank did not have a shut off. The fuel lines ran along the far starboard stringer inside battery door/transom seat, our fuel flow sensors were there also. It would be a pretty accessible spot for a few 1/4 valves.

My 1997 268 Islander has fuel valves. Twin F150's and main and aux tanks. They are located aft port side compartment. Lift the bucket out and they are there. Alternative is look in battery box and follow the fuel lines from the filter cans.
