Anyone knows of near future plans for smaller Grady Center Consoles.

For several years I was looking to trade my Grady walkaround for a center console but Grady didn't make a model that fit my families needs (a head and plenty off seating).

So last year I traded my Grady on a Scout 205sf and while it’s a good boat I really would rather have another Grady. If Grady could squeeze a head an Escape or option forward seating in a Fisherman I would be very happy with either of those boats.

Does anyone know of Gradys future small boat plans?

If it will make the boat less geared toward fishing...they'll probably do it.

Why don't you look at the Grady dual consoles (bow riders), no boat can have more seats, and full perimiter access for fishing.

The 222 offers three different portable head options. As for more seating, sorta defeats the purpose of a center console ... :(

Look hard at the dual console, they do a good job with it but its still not the same.

Thanks

The problem is we do many different things with our boat. We may fish it in the morning then wakeboard or cruise in the evening. While most of our fishing is 2 to 4 people we cruise and board with up to 8 people. The smallest Grady Center Console that can seat 8 comfortably is the 273 and thats to much for us at this point.

To answer your question more directly, if you are looking at new, Grady is eliminating smaller boats in favor of adding larger models, so don't expect a smaller boat new model, in the size you stated.

While GW targets the family fisherman, I would argue the smaller CCs in the GW lineup, 180, 209, and 222 are much more focused on fishing. There have been very few changes to these models over the years as the layouts are superb already.

Also, there is not much space to work with. A head on a 20'CC? Where? Make a bigger console and give up the cooler/fish box. Space is at a premium in this size range and GW has made the best of it IMHO.

The GW 222 Fisherman can be outfitted with vinyl cushions throughout and fold down rear seats on the transom.

This configuration provides plenty of seating for cruising.

I agree. One of the reasons I bought my 222 is because it was one of the most family friendly CC's out there. The 222 has an enclosed head and can be outfitted with full bow cushions and transom seats to provide plenty of seating. I primarily use mine for fishing but when I need to go the family route, it fits the bill.

If you want to seat eight comfortably in a 20'-22', you probably should be looking at pontoons. Probably ain't gonna happen in any kind of "fishing" boat that size ...
