Garmin HomePort software not updated for 64bit MacOS

I few years ago I discovered Garmin HomePort free software that lets you sit at your computer and use the keyboard to enter and edit your waypoints
Then you can re-import them to the Garmin units.SO MUCH EASIER THAN USING THE ARROWS ON THE GARMIN UNITS!

Boat is high & dry for the season...
So I copied my garmin waypoints to an SD card so I can rename and adjust new waypoints (wrecks) that I made this season.

Well I updated to "Catalina" Mac OS which is now strictly 64-bit. Homeport does not work. I get the feeling Garmin gave up on Homeport a while back.

I'm going to see if I can use the InReach web software to do my editing and get the new data back into the units. Fingers crossed....
Anybody else have any ideas?

edit:
First snag... InReach MAP doesn't take ".adm" files only .gpx, .kml, .kmz

Looks like my best bet is to use a PC.

I'm not a tech person so take this for what it's worth. I used to use Homeport too but I believe Active Captain is now the Garmin product you're looking for. It works better for me than Homeport and I believe it's free too. I have Garmin charts on my boat and I was able to transfer the charts to an iPad. I've never tried it on the computer. Good luck.

Agree, it's now ActiveCaptain but I think you'll find it only imports .GPX files. Depending on your MFD's, you can now even eliminate the SD card transfer and transfer via WIFI.

I used to use the SD method to get waypoints/routes from/to my IPad/INavX app onto my Garmin 76xx devices but just discovered this weekend that I can export from INavX (on the iPad), import into ActiveCaptain on the iPad and then synch real-time with the 76xx devices. This is great for when I need to change routes on-the fly (which I find easier to do on in INavX).

You can export your Homeport files as GPX files, if that helps. I haven't done it in a while, but if it is helpful to you, I can try it again.

my problem is that I can't get files INTO Homeport because it won't run on MAC now.
The files from the Garmin devices are ".adm"

I have a work PC laptop. I'll have to load Homeport on that and it'll work fine.

Must be an older Garmin MFD. If you can breath life into HomePort with an old PC, probably the best short term solution but at some point, you're probably need to be ready to find a converter to/from ADM/GPX. Looks like there are options available to you on the web.

Loaded Homeport on my work PC laptop and got done what I needed.

Years ago I loaded in every wreck/reef/rockpile spot I could find numbers for.
It saves a huge amount of time rather than using the menu and buttons on the garmin.
Whenever I actually get on it, I make a bunch of marks to mark the edges. They default to the next sequential waypoint number.
In homeport I rename them (like ArundoN, ArundoS, ArundoE ArundoW, ArundoHiSpot) and change symbols.
Same goes for renaming the marks where I hooked up tuna.
I started marking areas with lobster pot flags that are off the beaten path and it really pays off with the dolphin fishing.

Also I go thru and delete all the one-off marks of a bait school, etc...
