I have a Garmin 547xs that came with the boat. I have updated to S\W to 6.80.
What I want to do is update the maps.
Currently I have US Marine Detail g2 v2014.5 v 16.00 and US Lakes Detail Map v2014.01 v15.51.

How can I get the Mid-Atlantic (NC) maps with out having to buy a $400.00 set of the east coast ?
I am in a 228 Grady and can't see needing much more than 5 or 6 miles out and the sounds.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

I found a chip for my area on Amazon for $75.00 a few years back......now it is about $350.00.....not sure how it works.

Same thing with my 840XS Chartplotter.............found the machine and CHIRP transducer on Amazon for less than $500.00...haven't seen it for less than $1,200 since.

The GPSSTORE.COM is a good place to look.

Didn't that machine come standard with coastal maps - the entire US coast? I thought you could update your maps for free through Garmin?

The "Vision" upgrade, if I remember correctly? But is that what Carlo wants? Carlo, you mentioned you wanted to "update" the charts... I took that to mean you wanted the most up to date info in regards to NavAids and such?

If the gps was never registered.. register it.. then log into your account online and see if you get a free map upgrade.

I know.. sounds iffy.. but, I have a 7610xsv and it was purchased in 2016 or 17. The guy never registered it so, when I registered it, I went to my profile on the Garmin site and I had, under subscriptions, what I thought was an InSight subscription, but turns out that Garmin gives you 1 free map within a year for both of those maps.. and $99 for updates after that. I am waiting till like January to update mine...heh.. but, worth a shot to register it to you and see if it has the free one still available.

They offer the 1 year based on the day it was registered due to not knowing when stock is sold.
