Looking to replace my older Furuno autopilot with Garmin MRP Reactor 40 Hydraulic corepack w/smartpump V2 and GHC 30.

The question I have for anyone who has installed one is where did you put the pump and compass? Right now, my Furuno pump is in the aft on ledge to the right of the generator. The compass is in the forward bilge area several inches from the bilge pump.

is this what others have done. Manual says the pump needs to be in a non-wet area.

I have a 2001 330. My pump is in the foot rest under the steering wheel. I have a Furuno SCX 20 on the hard top. Serious GPS antenna

My pump is where your furuno is (on that ledge near the genset), and my CCU is under the live well accessible by removing the tackle storage. I get an 84 quality for the compass calibration in that location.

Not exactly apples to apples but, I installed the garmin ap with smart pump on my 305 last year. the pump is on the shelf next to the genny. this location gives you a short run to the batteries and is right under where the hydraulic steering lines T off going to he engines. The reactor or computer portion of the AP is mounted under the dash panel on the inside of the bucket for the electronic pod.

i didn't have an AP. But, the power assist for the f350's was mounted in the starboard mid berth void where the vacuflush is. i mounted my heading sensor in the upper part of the locker between the head and mid berth. good luck, ron
