Was there ever a conclusion on this thread?
Also I painted the indicator arrow red to remind me which way they go. On a diesel boat I owned they reversed the handles and ground the indicator tip off so the arm was the indicator. Maybe he has his tank valving mixed up and is running off a different tank.
