Hi guys, could one of you give me a measurement of your 228 from trailer hitch to motor prop. (total length on trailer). To those who have had a 208 and and 228, would you share your opinion on the difference, apart from the obvious approx. 2' length. Is the cabin any bigger? Ideal outboard size? Just meditating over an upgrade, after all it is a "Brand New Year" Thanks!

Thanks kY, beauty boat!!!! You certainly have it looking its best. Hard to believe it is a 16 year old boat. Nice Work!!! Thinking it through....I have done so many mods to my 208 I am reluctant to change up. Would no doubt have to reconfigure the boat barn for a fit. I think for now I will stay happy with my 208.... but always looking!
KY Grady...I may have asked this before...what is the wheel/tire package you have on your trailer? I am looking to upgrade (I have load C rated 14" tires and galvanized wheels). I like the aluminum look. Wish I had asked about 15" wheels when I ordered my trailer... What size/load range do you run?

Thanks man. I may stay with the 14" and find these or comparable AL rims with D load rating.

The Endurance are the replacement for the old school Goodyear Marathon's. Goodyear farmed out the Marathon's to Mexico and the quality suffered. The new, American made trailer tires are the Endurance. I've been very pleased with them, multiple trips to Florida and South Carolina and not a hiccup.
X2 on the Endurance so far.
Ky Grady is correct about the demise of the Marathon brand. Once a rock solid tire you could depend on it was cheapened considerably after manufacturing in the US was discontinued.
Parthery warned me about the new Marathons being sub-par, but I thought, well, I don't know what I thought, but I bought a new set for my Gulfstream 232 tandem trailer several years back. Two of the four blew apart at speed.
Like Ky Grady, I investigated the replacement Endurance tires and, so far, couldn't be happier. I had the largest load range possible ("E" I think?) on my tri-axle trailer that I bought to pull my Marlin and I pulled that 14,600 lb boat to Michigan, back to Fla and the tires were great.
Until Parthery says otherwise, I'm using Endurance.
