My boat is an '04 and while washing it I noticed the Logo decal on the starboard side is missing. I haven't called a dealer yet since it is Sunday but was wondering if anyone has had experience with locating these for older boats. I did a quick look on ebay and nothing there. These are the ones that are rather thick, soft plastic. Any help is sure appreciated.

Man, you must have done a REALLY quick search! My search was less than 10 seconds! :)

It appears it may be that soft 'bubble' type decal that you're talking about? https://www.ebay.com/i/192184503141?chn=ps

I think they're called 'domed' stickers, in case you need another search term.

EDIT: I missed that last picture you had with the tape. The one I linked to is smaller. But maybe this will get you going in the right direction? Do you have a Grady part number from a parts manual?

Maybe not search savvy.

Found same one.

But I did buy my new 228 ones from dealer. At the time I was looking, never found the 228's on Ebay.

Yes, I did see that small one advertised on ebay. It is the OEM one but only 2 3/4 inches long. Then there is all the aftermarket guys with the simple vinyl decals but there is a shop right here in my town that does those. I am going to try to find the proper one. I do see the proper sized one on ebay for the later model called "Freedom".

In the picture, this one looks like a normal sticker. But the description, on the backside, uses the word "Domes"... maybe it is a domed decal?

Dennis, Thanks for taking the time to look that up. I did see that on ebay and it is the correct one size-wise. In 2011 Grady changed the name from "Tournament" to "Freedom". As a last resort I would put that one on but I first want to make sure there is not one out there with the "Tournament" name on it. Grady did not offer a 205 in 2010 while they redesigned the model.

I need the same 205 domed decal for my boat too. I only found the smaller one. If you find a source please let me know and I will do the same.

Well, I haven't been much help! :)

Whatcha' wanna bet that your initial idea, to call a dealer, turns out to be the easiest solution!

Hey Halfhitch put the Freedom ones on, it would be the least expensive upgrade you could. :p

Ha Ha...Yeah, Too bad updating 7 years by adding a sticker can't be reality , huh? I may wind up with that one. The guy I needed to talk to at the Marina was out yesterday. Hoping I can get his ear today. Funny how whenever you are trying to solve a difficult problem, they always say you gotta talk to "this old guy". What's gonna happen when "this old guy" dies?:)

I had my local dealer call Grady and they said the old Tounament logos are discontinued and they have no stock. The new Freedom version is available. There is probably some of the old ones around in some dealers stock but there is no practical way to find them. To bad the boat dealers aren't like the auto dealers in that they can search everyones stock

While I haven't used any of them, personally, there are companies out there that will make the domed decal to your specs. Or just use a regular sticker. I guess it all depends on how picky you are at keeping things "original". But keep in mind that it won't make one bit of a difference to a buyer down the road.

Yes, I agree Dennis, I figured I would give it a shot to keep it original but I'm not wasting anymore time on it. I have one of the new generation "Freedom" styles on order. It's just like doing the pinstriping on your car. People can only see one side at a time anyway.

I called my local Grady White dealer in Niantic, CT and Grady makes a generic substitute decal shown below. It is the exact same size as the the 205 decal. Part number is 30-203 and cost $29.50 each.

That's the same thing I got from my dealer...the generic "GW" one or the one that says "205 Freedom".
