I would think so I have a 192 with a 150 2 stroke and that is as low as I would go it does fine with just me and my buddy aboard but wish I had at least the 175 but a Heavier 140hp 4 stroke? I do not think you are going to like that especially with a few people and gear aboard

If it is a nice rig and a good deal I wouldn't let that stop you. That HP should be adequate based on the 150 being more than enough on a 192.

a 150 More than enough for a 192??? UMMMM No not really IMO I got a 192 and the 150 Yamaha 2 stroke is just adequate, a heavy 140 4 stroke ?? not so much unless you are just cruising small waters

A lot of this will come down to personal preference and the way the boat is being used. Generally speaking, yes, 140HP is enough for a small boat. Can having more HP hurt? Heck no. It really all comes down to how YOU will use your boat and your expectations/needs/wants. Take a test ride and see if it fits the bill for you.

How much heavier is a 140HP 4-stroke compared to a 150HP 2-stroke?

My 1994 2 stroke 150 comes in at 430 lbs and a comparable 4 stroke is about 475-500
