If you're a Grady owner who hasn't had the opportunity to visit the Greenville NC factory, I strongly suggest considering it. My wife and I had the privilege of touring the facility on Monday. The staff was incredibly welcoming, providing us with a personalized tour that delved into their origins, the hurdles they've overcome, and the expansions made to accommodate vessels of 40 feet and beyond.

Thanks for the pics, It is a long way from Vancouver Island so do not think I will ever have the privilege of the tour, but I am sure I would find it interesting to see them in different stages of build and talk with the staff.

Thanks. Is there wood in the boat these days? It looks like some plywood in some of the hull pics?

There might be but I believe it's different wood from early Grady's? Everything is hand laid fiberglass, no spray cut fiberglass anywhere in the boat so consistency is key. No heavy / light spots leading to weight and balance issues. The interesting thing I noted was at every stage any imperfections / issues etc...were addressed right there and not pushed to the end of the line to try and clean up.

They do a decent job for sure. I was hoping all wood was gone from the boats though. I'm sure what they use is greenwood if present. Did you get any pics of the undersides of the decks?
Curious if they are using wood in this area. Would be nice to see it composite.

Would love to go for a factory tour but I'm out here in Seattle and unfortunately on the opposite side of the country from the factory. I was considering doing the factory tour when I bought my boat out in Maryland back in October of 2021, but I don't think they were doing tours still at that point because of the corona.
