I seldom post new topics here, but this is just an idea.

Was wondering if anyone has any interest in a gathering of the people on this board.
I know many are involved in Grady Owners Clubs everywhere..My thought here is a one-time get-together of the people who post here frequently. I think it would be neat to put faces and boats with the usernames.

Obviously, a lot of stuff would have to be ironed out, central location for all, lodging for those who wouldn't sleep aboard, etc.

It may not be feasable, logistically, but I think it would be a great time..Heck, think of all the knowledge, tips, boat rides, fishing, anchoring....wow...

I like the idea, when and where!!!!! Maybe make it a biyearly event and change the venue so that it is accessible to all over time, you will get many to travel. If it fit my schedule and budget I would be interested. If it is up north it should be summer time, if it is down south it should be in the winter, we need to be able to fish and go on boats after all!!!

As someone who travels every week up and down the East Coast, I think its a great idea. Let me know where and I'm in....

The Ches. Bay Grady White Club is planning a G/W East Coast get together in Solomons, MD. The dates we are planning on is Friday, August 15, 2008 through Sunday, August 17, 2008.

This is going to be a BIG event, everyone who can should join us there!

KenLahr...My idea for this is a shindig involving the participants on this forum.
As I said above, I'm sure many have clubs they pay dues to already...
It would be neat to see everyone here on the forum representing multiple Grady Owners Clubs, as opposed to another Owners Meet as your talking about. besides, we need you there so everyone can see your trailer in person.....
Gradyfish...
If it becomes popular, changing the locale is a great idea, climate control is a big factor...
If Parthery, Mega, BobP, Cap. Bill ,etc. can make it, it would be huge..
My purpose for starting this is to ascertain if there's enough interest to take it to the next level.

Anyway, let the replies continue....I'm assuming it would have to be a weekend...I am in the entertainment biz, so my weekends are tied up for the most part.

Lake Cumberland is very centrally located. It's within 500 miles of most of the country east of the Mississippi and there is a great state resort park w a lodge and w/ docks for those of us who can't sleep on our boats. The one draw back is that it would only work for those of us who have trailerable boats. Otherwise it's landlocked. Just a thought!

I live on the west coast (SF Bay Area) and I now own my 2nd Grady White. The people on this site have been Great to me and have given me a lot of great information and have spent a lot of time with me. Tim and Tom I really wish to thank you two in person. So I would love to try and meet with anyone from this site.

So far so good..gw204 may have something...No use goin' to a gathering only to have your rig impounded..
Anyway, I'm thinkin' a 3-day event..A long weekend or something..With the distance many would theoretically come from, 2 days wouldn't do the mileage and travel expense justice.
Megabytes idea of NC might be a smart choice as many of the participants on here seem to be from the East Coast.
I also like Chris' Cumberland idea..Smack in the middle of the Midwest, and, like him, I personally have lots of running time on the lake..Big, deep, clean, lotsa coves and bays, great launch ramps and plenty marinas.

I have one weekend, plus Monday and Tues off in June..I'll have to check on the exact weekend..That may be too short a notice, and if it is, I understand. My prob is, that's the only weekend I have available. If you all decide on a time later in the summer, put up lotsa pics, and I'll try to make ,09.

I'm certainly encouraged so far...

I think the next thing is to have all who are interested post your 1st and 2nd choice for a central location. This way, we get a feel for the possibilites.;

I don't mean states. That's too vague. I mean a specific locale..Ex, Savannah, GA...Lake Of The Ozarks..or whatever.

If someone from the north wanted to come to Florida I would invite them to fish we me for a weekend. That would elimanate the cost and trouble of towing. Kind of like a student exchange.
5 or 6 of us being hosts for our northern friends all fishing from the same port. That would get 12 names on 6 boats. Then reverse it and we could go north and fish on ya'll's boats.

Just a thought.
