Hello everyone, considering getting a grill for my tournament 192. Looking for ideas where to mount on a small boat, thinking of going with a pole holder but I don't want to grease to drip on my boat. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks. Be safe, have fun.
 
Get a webber Q. I have a magma rod holder mounted grill which we used for years. I always though it worked ok, just not great. Once I started using the weber, I never went back. That being said, not sure where you would put it on a 19ft boat.

Thanks I would be taking it on and off the boat just wondering if it's doable on a 19 or just stick to cold sandwiches

Fathers Day I Have a small Magna grille on a 20' overnighter, pretty much the same hull as yours, and I use a rod holder on the starboard side. Works as portable, easy to setup and takedown Works good for us, wife and 2 grandkids. We really enjoy it and it holds enough food to feed the family on the sandbar trips. Nice to have hot food out there, especially my coffee.

Thanks for your input that's exactly what I was thinking of doing. Just wasn't sure if it was going to make my trip pleasant or miserable. Sounds like you really enjoy it. Thank you!
 
The magma grill has a rail mount option too, if you have a stern railing
 
Just a thought...

get a fire proof grill mat to put under it (cut a hole in it, if you go with a rod holder mount)
 
I've only ever used the Magma grills and mounts (on a number of different boats), but the mounts have an arm the holds the grill away from the boat a bit. There is an extension arm available, too -- although I never found the need for that. I never really had a problem with grease dropping inside the boat -- occasionally on the outside, but that wipes up easily... and makes your boat look shinier!

If you're worried about it, though, just throw a towel over the gunwale.

There's all kinds of mounts... rod holder mounts, rail mounts (which also work on a bimini pole, flush mounts, etc.
 
I also use the Magma (round grill) mounted in the rear rod-holder on my 192. I position it over the water as much as possible when I use it on the boat and have never had an issue with grease. The last few years I've found it just as easy to bring the grill up on the sand and dig a hole to hold the pole (that goes in the rod-holder when it's mounted on the boat) and then I level the sand around it. Either way it's definitely nice to have the grill option over cold sandwiches!
