We have a 08’ gulfstream that has the standard 4 rod hanging storage holder. I end up putting about 4-5 rods on the counter for additional “storage” and even more (add the couch for storage in this equation) if trolling gear is required. During early spring and late fall/early winter our entire cabin is overcome with fishing rods. This also happens to be key family morning and afternoon/evening boating weather during the same exact times of year. Has anyone successfully added hanging storage in their gulfstream cabins that would fit any of the following; (2-4) 5’ 6” trolling rods, (2-4) 6’ 6” spinning Rods or (2-3) 6’ ultralight (500-1000 series) spinning rods? I’m looking to get any one set of rods out of the way and hanging as that’s the way we tend to use our fishing gear. Thank you.

I take 11 when I go solo...
on my 265 I added 6 rod grommets to the fwd anchor locker bulkhead so I can get 7ft rods down there.

Grady used to provide an option for the cabin models (got it on my Sailfish) which was a 6 rod, fold out holder. It is mounted on the port side wall as you come down the stairs. I am almost positive they were available for the Gulfstream as well. They may still be available via Grady/local GW dealer.
I have a fold out 4 rod holder on the port side that is a Grady standard for that model. I like the idea of installing similar setup as skunk put in but not sure I have the room without racking my head on the aft grommets. I’m looking for cabin storage as if I push it we can run 15 rods when trolling (which are stored in cabin when not in use) but don’t feel like taking rods in and out of the cabin storing them in rod holders then putting back in cabin if we’re just going out for a cruise/drink and want to utilize the cabin for family space. All ideas are appreciated... again only looking to store max 4 rods outside of OEM standard

Hey ridge runner, just an update. CaptBill reached out to me yesterday and sent me a whole bunch of photos from his boat, can't thank Bill enough he went above and beyond. The Marina I do my yearly service at should be able to fabricate these for me (timeline unknown due to the Virus). I'm going to have a couple of sets made in case anyone else comes across the same scenario and looking to have this installed. I will definitely be posting the updates. Also I would still post the photos of your set up, if you have the time, because most of the original pictures from years ago on this site are not viewable because of their age. An issue I ran into while doing my research. With CaptBill's permission, I will be uploading the photos he sent me as well.

Thank you for that! To be honest I never understood the bungees but here's my best guess. The large long bungee wraps all the way up over the reel holding it down in the groove. The smaller bungee must somehow just wrap around the rod tip?
On my 2004 Gulfstream I built an oak T shape rack with 6 taco holders that I hang from the bottom of th top bunk and I am abe to store 6 8ft talora rods and reels from them.

I think you've got a rod problem, not a storage problem. That many rods down there will mean butts and tips everywhere. I'd come up with a way to only have what you need onboard and swap out as needed.
On the great lakes we are able to run 3 rods per person....six walleye rods on he boat is nothing. When we fish for salmon on Lake Michigan we may have 12 rods or more on the boat.
