I had a 2002 Gulfstream that had clear straps that supported the radio box doors.
Just purchased 2023 Gulfstream and the radio box hinges are not holding doors open in ocean travel.
It is such a great boat and I cannot believe I am having this issue.,
Looking to purchase old straps and re-create what does work.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

First thought would be to talk to your dealer about a warranty fix.

Can you post a picture of what your setup is? I'm envisioning a simple black, nylon strap with a snap at either end and matching snaps on the door and somewhere on the boat. Possibly using a twist lock snap on one side (or both). I suppose clear vinyl (eisenglass) could be used, as well.

Maybe they were installed, but not adjusted. Nothing coming out of the factory surprises me anymore. I am guessing they are friction hinges, with maybe a detent or two, to hold the door in position.

I had the cockpit curtains redone last year and has the shop make the straps out of the navy blue material the curtain borders were made from. Works great an is a no scratch on the plastic windows

I'd have a shop make em up or call AJ Canvas in NC. They put them on the enclosures.
