My F350s have 280 hrs on them,but i only get max 5200 RPMs with 38 knts speed,half fuel tank and three people on board.Is it ok??

Could not service the engines on the weekend, but did give it a spin again.WOT was 5400 with speed of 44Knts (48.4 miles) with full trim. I am sure the filters had dried up with no fuel in the boat for almost four months. Once i service the engines and change the fuel filter,might get 5600 WOT.

hi shams,
i would think not. take a look at the spec. http://www.gradywhite.com/300/

looks like you should be running around 57 mph and turning 5900. are you using 89 octane fuel? if not, may be some performance impact. also check prop specs against the perf sheet and don't forget fuel filters. and are you fully trimmed? hope you're having fun with it. ron

Those must be some BIG people :lol: You need to reprop and or check your fuel quality.Maybe engine height, but you should be going faster speed wise and rpm wise! :cry:

I am sure fuel quality is not the same as US,altough they say its 90 octane but i think its not more than 80 or so here. When the boat was surveyed it did 5700 max. Its also Monsoons here so the sea is really bad,I just gave it a run in the creek,maube the four strokes taker longer to fully rev.

prolly have to trim out your engines;
i got a 282 w/twin f225s and also experienced lower speeds then the specs indicate but raising the engines a few bars made some difference;

note that usu the specs are under ideal conditions which you almost never experience anyway;

as noted, the specs are for optimal conditions. i would wait until seas flatten out and then try. in the meantime, check those fuel filters.

Shams,

Glad to hear you have your boat. If you extrapolate the GW performance specs you should be able to do about 47 MPH @ 5,200 RPM. Based on my experience the GW numbers are about 10% higher than reality so let’s say about 42 MPH or 38 knots.

As I am sure you are aware the engine RPM is controlled by a number of things including prop pitch, trim and engine height off the transom. I believe that it is also electronically limited at the time the boat is set up. You should be able to enable an increase in the rpms through the engine software.

If you do not have access to a resource that can confirm this question for you I am happy to ask my dealer.

Thanks!! let me service the engines i.e change engine and gear oil including oil and fuel filters. The boat was out of action for almost four months.Will give it a longer spin this time and get back with performance.
Thanks You
