I am looking at a 330 express which has small areas of paint on the headliner below. They appear to be the result of some repair but the owners don't seem to know what. They did, however, indicate that they had had a prior problem with the hard top in rough seas.

Any ideas???

are you sure it is paint and not polish residue?

if it is paint, i would be wary of an owner not fessing up to what the problem is. could be a hurricane boat - who knows? ron

The headliner is tan and the "paint" is a darker tan or light brown but it is somewhat sticky when touched. There are about 4 or five places, all quite small but irregular in shape. I wondered if it could be water damage. From when they had hard top trouble. We were told that the hard top had been screwed, rather than through bolted, on. I find that difficult to believe. We really like the boat otherwise.

you should call the factory and ask specifically about installation of the hardtop on a 330 and if there are any areas that are screwed rather than thru-bolted.

Had the same spots on my 330 also, what mine end up to be was the glue that used to lay the liner. I had to remove the part that the lights were mounted on (was a 1/4" material with the liner on it), this is how i found out, it was the same color as the contact cement they used to glue the liner on the 1/4" .
