Okay, anyone else care to add “We told you so”?
Anyone else care to pile on? Here’s your chance.
I got it. I am 53 years old. I was frustrated, but I do not need to be told to leave the people or things at home. The people and things were not the problem, the boat was.
I knew going in that it was a bad idea. No-one is imparting golden nuggets of wisdom here, this was a pita because of the boat, the people were just salt in the wounds.
So, can we please give the “don’t do this or that” a rest? Again, not trying to be rude either, but the boat being broken had nothing to do with whether or not I had people or rods on the boat and if I had left them at home, it would have been equally as broken.
I also do not have anyone to help, so I was forced into this situation of taking a friend that only cared about fishing. Had I not let him take the rods, I would not have had any help at all. Furthermore, yes I could have told him not to come then, but....again..no-one else to help. Yes I could have left the kids at home, but my son is my son and good bad or indifferent, he gets to go, and as such, I cannot then tell my wife and daughter they too cannot come.
So, it was a weekend made worse, not by the people there, with the exception of the lack of help.
I appreciate all the help, I honestly do, but at some point it is less about help and more about throwing in 2 cents that any one of us would have done the same thing.
So, I have moved on....how about we focus on the boat and leave my personal decisions out of the equation? I think we can all agree the choices I made were not the best for this trip, but they were all I had.
