Hey peeps,
I bought a Garmin 942xs plus. It replaced a 4208 and a GSD 22 digital sounder. I am running an airmar shoot through the hull 1kw transducer 50/200khz. I spliced the wires and connected to the Garmin 6 pin to 8 pin black box.
The 942xsplus has built in chirp and traditional sounder. I followed the wiring diagram and connected the wires accordingly. Now my cable had a split set of wires. One was black, blue, yellow, white and the other was black and blue. I connected both blues and blacks to the same port on the Garmin box.
The instructions kept referring to nondifferential transducers . Did I do something wrong by pairing up the two blacks and blues? Either way, the sonar is not showing up on the 942. Radar pops up, the charts pop up but no sonar. Maybe after dinner I go out and disconnect the blue and black from the split cable?
Any wisdom is welcome. Thanks.
