help swapping front loading eye

Hi guys

The bow eye snapped off at the weekend trying to pull the boat out of the water. As it doesn't go through the hull all the way, Does anyone know if i need to drill it out to fit a replacement. I thought i wold see the back of it in the anchor locker but nothing below the Anchor fixing.

Any advice would be great.

You should see it in the anchor locker. It should have a reinforcement (backing) and a couple of nylock nuts holding it on.

What model and year boat?

This is a picture inside the anchor well of a 228. This is how my boat is and that is normal for most boats , I hope that helps.
