Help with installing a Table base in my Freedom 255 (2015)

Hi:
I want to install the base for a removable table in the bow area of the boat.
Not sure where it is done at the factory (I'm using the OEM base, post, etc).
Specifically, I'm concerned about where there is some backing material for drilling into.
If any member has a similar boat with the factory installed base, I would appreciate a photo and maybe a couple of measurements, just for peace of mind.

You may want to give Grady a call on this one. They might have a diagram and/or give you measurements on where they install it. I have found customer service to be very helpful for stuff like this.

On older models like mine GW used a vertical mount between the v-berth bunks and aluminum post and arm to the table.

Hmmm. I've seen and installed a lot of table bases over the years at the shop... but I've never seen one like that. I don't even understand how a table pole can connect to that.

Me either. If you have all the parts, show us how the pole fits in the base. You can do a google image search , and see approximately where it is located, but not exact measurements.

Where is the rest of the table? Is this GW OEM or aftermarket table?

The pedestal is called a Bolt Lock.
It's used with a stow away pedestal and table.
it can bear a side load of 50 pounds.
Insert the square bolt in the hole and twist right 1/2 turn then tighten slightly.
Not for use underway for obvious reasons.
Bolt is 3/8 In diameter.
Several makers use it including GW. Although some that I have seen (In a 275 GW) the base is rather thick and made of aluminum with an horrendous brush finish. This one is polished SS and with a very toe friendly thin profile.
I just shot a consult with technical support at Grady White. They have helped me in the past, let's see this time.

The old GW mount seems much stronger. Solid base, vertical mount, no messing with the deck.

Hook, it looks like it is a surface mount - so that part shouldn't be a problem.

But I'm kind of skeptical of the integrity of it, as well. I suppose it'll work fine for light duty - but I don't think it would take much more than a slightly heavy elbow or hand (using it as a prop to help stand up) to render it useless... or at least make it wobblier for the rest of it's life.

I like the SS aspect of it, but heck, I've seen sturdier setups in pontoons... and I'm sure they're a fraction of the price. There's no reaosn you HAVE to use that setup.

Normally, I wouldn't worry about whether or not there is wood backing under the floor - but I think you're right to check into that with this mount. Although, really, the load on the base plate is still spread out over a large area and that isn't the problem with this mount.

No scale for the photo but this looks like a 10" or 12" base. Agree that its surface mount.
