I am planning on installing a high water alarm in my Sailfish. Does anyone have some pictures or a parts list of a good setup? Thanks!

Here is the one that I have. The only additional items you will need are marine grade tinned wire and heat shrink connectors.

I bought the same thing for my Formula. In the specs it says that the alarm (the black round thing) can not get wet, so you can not mount it on the console if you have a center console boat, i was thinking mounting it on the electronics box door, what you guys think?

That is strange that it is not at least spash proof. I may have to rethink where to mount it when I order one.

Ok, check these out. They look a little more heavy duty. A better chance of being waterproof. They carry them at Defender.

I bought mine at Hamilton Marine, a local shop, for about $70. The Johnson web page lists retailers by state.

I put the control switch right next to my chart plotter. Other than Test, there's two switch positions - Off and Armed. The intent is to leave the switch in the Armed position, which triggers the red flashing light and 100db alarm (it really is loud!). But if the switch is inadvertently bumped to the Off position the red light flashes without the audible alarm. That's why I mounted it next to my chart plotter. I'm sure the Off position is so that you don't go deaf while you're trying to find out why there's water in your bilge.

I wired the unit in the same manner as the bilge pumps so that the alarm is active regardless of the battery switch. That way at least there's a chance someone in my marina would be able to respond if I wasn't around.

Best of all, I am now fairly confident that I won't fill my bilge while running out to the fishing grounds only to swamp once I stop.
