Thanks,
I just sold a Sportsman 235 (bridge clearance 8.0 feet with hardtop and draft 14 inches.
my plans are to find a Freedom 235 (bridge clearance 7’8” with hardtop and draft of 20 inches) all based on company specs. My door is just under 12 feet (like 11’ 9”).
The question is??? Will it go in ?
The bridge clearance and draft don't relate 100% to max height since the boat sits differently in the water than typically on a trailer. The Grady bridge clearance may not include addons either like, radar, antenna mounts, spot lights etc.
The height added trailer is a critical variable but just about impossible to calculate. Just moving the bunks or rollers in or out a tad will affect the overall height.
If you need an inch or two, you can partially deflate the tires when loading into the garage but you should reinflate or block the trailer for storage.
My advice is to look for the boat model you want and try to locate one or more already on trailers. Right now is a good time to look if you are in the north east since folks are pulling boats for the winter. Make a clearance stick out of a few (3) lengths of either pvc or wood. You can use unglued couplers on PVC for storage. Use the inverted L stick to gouge clearance.
