how to connect NMEA 2000 TO GARMIN

Good Evening: I will like to connect a nmea 2000 in my gpsmag 8612xsv , I have a twins 2007 yamaha 250hp, 2 square tach and 1 fuel speed, the boat have in the transom compartment one 6Y8-81920-01 running to another one in the front dash tach compartment which I think go to each tach and fuel speed, my question is how I can do connection to the new nmea network created by me that going to be connect to de new gps? below the pic transom 6Y8-81920-01

Should be straightforward. NMEA2000 bus has terminators on both ends. Anything you connect "T's" off the bus. I run several NMEA devices off my network including two 8612 xdv's, Fathom GMR 18 radar, GPS 24xd antenna and Fusion radio.

I know but my question is how or what kind wire connections I must use to connect the 6Y8-81920-01 to the NMEA 2000 network to show everything form my Yamahas, sorry my English it’s not native language

Those are Yamaha command link multi hubs. you need an interface cable that goes from one of the “device” ports on the multi hub to your Nema 2000 backbone. There are three device ports on each multi hub. Your forward multi hub probably has no spare device ports. Your aft multi hub probably has one spare device port. You can tap into that and run the interface cable up to your Nema 2000 backbone. The interface cables are available and simply require one end to be a Nema 2000 connector on the other end to be a Yamaha multi hub connector.

You are right, just one “device port and one bus port available in the transom multi hub”. Is there any wire or part number that you recommend? I don’t want to end up buying the wrong item. Another question is why does the multi hub in the transom does not have a wire powering the power port?

I don't know anything about the command link buss or your power question. I plugged a cable into a cable inside my 2006 F150's and connected the other end into my NMEA2000 T-connector. I don't have a hub - I'm using old gauges.

The command link bus most likely gets its power from the forward multi hub. Only one hub requires power to supply the entire bus.

I connected the Yamaha network to my N2K network buy getting a blank plug that fit the multi-hub connector, and cut one end off of a N2K drop cable. You only need to connect the signal wires, DO NOT connect the power wires.. Then remove a terminator from the multi-hub, plug your new connnector there, and remove a terminator from the N2K network and plug the drop cable end there. Your multi-hub doesn't need power at both locations, it's shared across the network.

I would think this is the cable you will need. Be sure to start a NMEA2000 backbone back near your transom so any future additions to the system that originates in the aft section of your boat only has to connect to that backbone. That eliminates having to fish a wire or cable the full length of the boat for every component of the system. Do a search on "N2K backbone" and you can read up on it.

I was looking to this cable but this one clarified is for direct plugging to the motor connector, Can this cable be connected to the 6Y8-81920-01 multi hub port without any problem?

I just did a similar job with twin 2006 250s to the back of a pair of Garmin1242xsv. I used the J1939 port on the back of each Garmin to connect to the Yamaha network. I dont know if I did this right or not but it works. Part list:

Two: 6Y8-82521-11-00: Yamaha OEM 2FT Pigtail Bus
Two: Garmin J1939 to Yamaha Multi-hub BUS Adaptor

I'm sure there are other ways to do this which are more efficient but for me, it works. At first, I tried only having one J1939 Adaptor but I could only get one engine to read on my units. I found a thread on THT which suggested I add the second J1939 adaptor and now I get both engines data.

Do you have one or twins motor, if twins, do you plugged in the multi hub?

I have a single engine,and yes,plugged into multiport on the inside of transom.It came with a 15 Ft. cable so I had to add a short NMEA 2K cable to reach my under dash 2K backbone.Not sure what you need for twin motor setup.I'm sure one of the big electronic sales companies or Garmin can set you up.

I took this route after failure to showing both f250 engines through rg1939 cable to multilink hub in my GPS 8612XSV. Only showing
''port" and never the "starb" in the engines setting. I took a black nmea200 cable and cut one of the end and splice with the yamaha pigtail but only the blue and white. wrap it in copper tape for noise shield and is working righ now, just one question,, when I power it on the gps first time sound alarm and show several malfunction errors, after that just store the data and I don't know if that was an old error in the past and nothing to worry about it
