How to remove ski pylon

2013 Freedom 335. Factory ski pylon mounted to transom. I loosen/remove the U-shaped strap. Does the pylon pull up or maybe unscrew from base?

Also, is pylon ok to pull tube with a few riders?

Some pylons are OK to pull tubes, some not so much. Check your manual or contact Grady to get a definitive answer. I've seen the results of using pylons for things they are not designed for... not pretty.
