Ran my 265 Grady on its' first canyon trip. We ran 90 miles to the Hudson Canyon for a troll/chunk trip. Not much action on the troll, 2 knock down's, one was a white marlin that never came tight. Had a slow pick of 50lb longfin on the night chunk and lost a 100+lb sword at the gaff.

Boat with full gear, full fuel , over 700lbs of ice, and a 6man liferaft on the bow.

Nice pics and nice boat. I really love the way the water looks out there (in the trolling pic). Of course in NJ we don't get see pretty water like that all the time. The bay is always brown. :(

Thanks for sharing!

A lost Sword is something to cry about. No hits while chunking? We were at Mudhole last Wednesday and got nada! 3 Flats of Butterfish! Fog kept us from going > 30 miles out. Still the best of fun!

Yeah the swords have been kicking our behinds this year. Went to OC, Maryland this past weekend and the same guy from this trip hooked up with a big sword well over 200lb and after an hour the fish spit the hook. Not much action down there yet....should have ran my boat to the canyons more north instead. I was hoping to run to the mud hole or glory hole for bluefins but after your report I may rethink that now.
