Hull Question

I want to add some rod holders on the hull under the gunnel. The only way I can think of to mount the rod holder is to use small screws.

Does anyone know what length screw I can use? I have to believe that there is some space between the inner hull and the outer hull before I screw through the whole thing.

It’s a 1988 Seafarer, I don’t know if the year makes a difference with the hulls.

Let me know if you know what I can use?

Are you talking about the actual hull side? If so, that's a hard NO. Do not do it - for a couple reasons. But don't do it.

Now, if you're intent on using that space - epoxy a wood block to the hull and then screw into that.

get two SternPads and stick em on. Then screw to that.

Or try some pvc trim board and some 3M VHB tape

The design of the liner has changed over the years. It varies.

Mine are attached at the deck and under the gunnel

This thread has some pix. these hulls had bump-ups in the deck to hold toe rails and horzontal rod/gaff/brush holders. One end of the rod/gaff/brush went into grommets into empty space between liner and hull. 80's boats were different. Do you have a pic of where you want to mount?
