Thank you for your interest in this matter.More info please Model boat? Single or dual tank?
What service did they perform?
What does the gauge read, empty, full or is it blank? What type gauge do you have, analog digital etc?.
30 ohms is correct for a full tank. If you open the deck access plats at the rear of the fuel tank, you will see the tank and sender flange. There will be a pink wire attached to the sender terminal/ Pull it off and your gauge should read empty ( it may take a few seconds). If the gauge does change then your wiring is fine including the tank ground. If the gauge doesn't drop, you probably have a wire that is accidentally shorted to ground or the gauge is bad. The gauge if the system monitor type may be set up incorrectly though .I am having the same issue on our 2018 Freedom 235, 300 single Yamaha with Command Link Plus gauge. The gauge worked last fall when the boat was put up, but hasn’t worked since we put the boat In. Marina tech looked at it. Sending unit reading ~30 ohms with full tank, so don’t think it is a bad sending unit. He is suggesting a possible ground issue, but said there are so many possible places on the boat a ground could be bad… The marina is passing on further trouble shooting.
Thanks for any suggestions.
I’ll try and get a pic of the gauge. The problem is no reading on the fuel level at all. I tried disconnecting the pink (power)from the sending unit. Can you post a picture of your gauge?
I see you got it fixed. Typical FIT.
