Yup, wider beam = more displacement in the stern, so a wider boat will sit higher at the transom. This principle also applies to pocket boats, a narrow boat with pockets will sit lower then a non pocketed boat with a similar or even narrower beam in many cases.
Rule of thumb, flatter deadrise = more displacement force and less draft,
pockets or a sharper deadrise = less displacement force and more draft
(to fix the lost displacement, these boats are often made wider)
