yes, no special control required either. you toggle the helm switch on and the lights come on bright white, if you toggle again dim white, again bright blue and again light blue.
There is a time window between toggles so you don't have to go through them all when turning off. the case is great and it mounts very easily with a couple of screws.

on my boat I changed the bulbs in the circular perko lights mounted in the step on the walk with blue led. I then spliced in the lumitec bars mounted under the gunnel. if I need white, the lumitecs do the job even with the blue bulbs in the perkos. all blue cockpit lights are nice...

Well, cruising the forum on a cold winter's night and the Taco brand did the same thing as others. One of the banks is intermentent . I am going to replace them this spring with either coastal brand, maybe lumitech. As a side note I installed the factory 2017 Lumitech overhead light. It's very nice with it's dimmable white and red LEDs. The switch is touch screen as it were on the lens and totally sealed from the elements.

Sorry for the delay. I should have posted earlier. I ordered two of the lights (blue). I was not sure about the dimming feature without a dimmer switch, but after a quick read of the instructions, I figured it out. Really love these lights. I can easily have them dim, for a little mood lighting, or let them brighten up, and be able to see everything. Very happy with them!

I replaced my old rusted worst marine halogen lights with these. Yes they are not marine boat lights but their stainless steel and held up amazing to salt water. If you search around you can even find them cheaper. Super bring work great

The "stainless" bolt is chinese "stain-less" but at $14 a PAIR you can replace a bolt.

I replaced the halogens and added one forward on the hardtop. Just bought some more to mount under the anchor pulpit.

I put on Black oak lights very happy with them and they come with a high quality lighted switch with each light. Ran both together and will the other switch for something else.

Mine is on the helm dome light. Also swapped out the helm dome light for a LED one and the switches are now touch, no more push button.

The ones that replaced the original halogens are still controlled by the "spreader" switch on the helm dome light. I just bought a 3 position pull switch (off/1 on/both on) to control the new ones under the anchor pulpit and the one facing fwd on the hardtop. The switch will be mounted in the center wall of the hardtop.

It's from my Grady dealer. It's made by Lumitec. I've seen Lumitec domes in WM, but not sure if they are setup to control the spreaders also. It's pricey, but a very nice upgrade from the old one with the push buttons that die. It's SmokyMtnGrady's fault I bought it, just trying to keep up. 8)

Rookie question......If I'm swapping my deck courtesy lights on the Stairs of my 228 do I just need new blue LED bulbs to fit in existing light or do I need a new fixture that handles LED lights? Thanks in advance!

depends on the bulb it takes. There are LED versions of various bulb types and many work ok.
Point is, make sure it says on the package that it replaces the bulb type that you have.

I have had a problem with certain bases that have a metal bayonet type base and 2 contacts. The plastic bulb socket provides +12v across the 2 connections and nothing to the metal base. Old incandescent bulbs don't require correct polarity.
I bought LEDs that had the same bases that looked to be replacements but they needed +12v to the contacts and Ground to the metal base. so they did not work.


That being said, the price of LED fixtures has come way down and it may be cheaper to replace the whole thing.
