I have a 209 escape 2001 with the livewell forward the console. My livewell pump will intermittently stop pumping water. I can hear the pump running but no water coming out. I have changed the pump twice but continue to have the problem. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how to solve it.

The pickup strainer (thru hull) may be clogged up. You won't be able to tell easily with the boat in the water. The sea cock could be partially closed or blocked also.
First thing to do is see if the sea cock works. If it does, close it and remove the hose from it to the pump at the pump. Then open the sea cock and water should flow freely out of the hose. If not, something is blocked.

thanks for the response, my boat does rest in the mud at low tide so I am sure it gets dirt in it. The odd part is that it will be running fine while I am out then stop pumping without me shutting off the switch or doing anything except fishing my drifts. If I then shut it off and drain the livewell it will start working again
