The family and I traveled to Morehead City, NC and am bringing back a 228g with F250. It is a much much larger boat than my 208. The only problem is that the wind has been blowing 20-30mpg all week, all day and all night. Seas 3-5 ft and even the sound is rough. I have put about 30 hrs on her anyway this week and it is quite a boat. She has raymarine C80 display, rader, gps, dsm300 (which is made in Mexico and going back to FLIR for replacement) VHF with external speaker and tunes. She has taco outrigger bases but the prior owner wanted to keep the poles. Love this boat.

Smokey Mtn, you are right, this is a lot more than a 208.

In case anyone else had a DSM300 which gives the "Lost Data Error" FLIR is making them good. see page 3.

Nice looking boat! I just purchased a 190 Tournament as my first GW, been about a week and a half and only been able to put it in the water once. This wind is killer down here. I put in by the high rise in Morehead the other day, got the stuffing beat out of me going through the turning basin especially around the area they are dredging. Decided to head up Front Street for some shelter water (was trying to get more familiar with the boat). Went back under the draw bridge and took the sloppy way past the airport back to the ramp. Was really bad on the way back, id say atleast 4 footers in the sound and super choppy. The boat handled it very well but was quite wet! Going to wait until the wind dies down (projected for late monday into tuesday) before I put in again. What ya naming her? Mine will be getting "Fishgitter" on the side in the very near future!

Congrats....the 22 is my favorite GW hull design....I loved my Seafarers....and feel the same about the 225. Rides like a boat that is bigger than 22'

Congrats on the new boat. Hope to see you out on Lake Murray. Mine is a 208 which is enough for me here and easier for me to trailer. Sorry you missed the fireworks last night.

Congrats and sweet ride! My unsolicited advice in making this boat handling a bit better is this. Get a 4 blade stainless prop for that 250 and the 228 will get better hole shot, better stern lift, better maintaining tight turns and holding speed in those turns. This is particularly true if you use her for water sports like I use mine. I get lower rpms for cruising and even my trolling rpms dropped a little. Sorry I did not see your posts earlier. Nice looking boat.

Model
Sailfish
The 22 was always the best design and works great in all aspects. My first time on one in FLA. was when a friend of mine had one and asked me to help him get into Sailfish, so out we go and got our live ballyhoo, first time he used livewell, then offshore and had multiple sails landed! The layout was great so I fell in love! Had been targeting this model for a long time, but found a great deal on my current boat so went for it. Near same layout and still my favorite from all other boats out there! You will continue to love it!
