Hi guys, this is my first post. I really been enjoying reading this forum for a little bit. This forum seems like a very happy place, filled with great people.

Anyway, I'm looking of making a purchase in the near future, my first Grady White! Was looking for some suggestions on what model exactly and size.

I've been boating since I was a child since I grew up on the water. I've had 13 Whaler, 15 Whaler, 37 Uniflite Houseboat, and currently a 26 Wellcraft Excalibur.

Looking into a Grady White because I want something outboard. Love inboard disels but I don't think I'm there yet. I'm a young guy, horrible with maintenance and want something more turn key. I'm very involved with my career and grateful for the time I can get off, but when I do get off and choose to boat, I want to boat and not work on the boat. Not looking for something with a lot of upkeep. A house down and be done.

I do most of my boating on south shore of Long Island, The Great South Bay. But I would also want to do some traveling, I figure Block Island, Martha's Vineyards, etc. A dream of mine would would be to boat to the coast of Maine and explore over there for a two weeks. Also I hear great things about the Bahamas, so that's the list as well. I will most likely get back into fishing and also would want to take out my girl and future children in the future.

Appreciate any input. Thank you.

Take a look at the 275 Freedom. You mentioned wife, kids, Bahamas so you a least need something this size.

You need to look at the Journey at the minimum end then Sailfish in the middle and Marlin at top end. These are all walkarounds with outboards. Either walkarounds or the expresses you can stay aboard and of course the bigger you go the better the amenities get.

Kind of like these expresses. 330 and 370. Triple outboards seem funny though. Do you think 33 is good for Maine and Bahamas trips from Long Island? Or 370 better suited for that type of water?

Either will work but bigger is always better. The bigger you go, less likely an issue with weather and the ride. Once you get into that class, I don't consider it a trailer boat, pretty much stays in the water with an occasional haul out for hull cleaning and maintenance. You can pull them but it takes a big truck, triple axle trailer and permits.

Def not looking of doing any trailering. I will think hard about a 330 Vs 370. Part of the appeal of not going inboard diesel is to have something more manageable. I don’t know why but I’m thinking the 370 with three outboards will complicate things. I imagine draft is still better though compared to an IB. These longer trips will be most likely be once in a while. I appreciate the input. But okay both size boats are appropriate for these types of trips.
