2007 Marlin and Yamaha 250's... Square fuel management gauge ..... there are two lines of bars that indicate tank fuel levels.. WHICH ? is for the Aux tank and which is for the Main tank ????

Since the two tanks are almost identical capacity in my Marlin (150 and 156 gal), I usually run one motor off each tank, so I don't drain one down and then switch to the other. It's been a while since I ran off one tank and then switch both to the second.
I believe the set of bars on the left (port) is the main and the bars on the right (starboard) is the aux.

On my 330 port is main. I too run each engine off a different tank. Less chance of bad fuel or bad fuel system operation leaving you DIW.

I run both on same tank then switch. To each his own... I'm stern heavy with the 350's, 6 batteries and a genny so I run the aft tank down first to get my butt up a little. 300 gallons and my scuppers are just wet at the bottom. Burn 30 or so from the aux tank and they are dry.

I agree it is probably best to have each running off each motor. The problem is you go to the fuel dock twice as much which can be a PIA if there is high traffic. The other is you actually double the opportunity to get bad gas as you go to the dock twice as much. If there is a 3% risk, it is now 6% but the impact is 50%. The impact is probably the same - boat needs to be pumped and checked out.
So in my opinion it is a coin flip. The more you use the boat, the more the fuel dock trips if you are filling one at a time.
