I know this question has been asked before, but I searched and could not find a thread with much input. In particular, I am looking for info for this bracket, and a 225hp OX66.
I can see that the hole above and below my current set up has been used at sometime in the past, so maybe this experiment has already been done, and I can save myself some work, if I am already in the sweet spot.

For what it's worth. This is my setup. Top hole, bracket. Third hole, motor. This is on a 2004 F225 on my 2004 228. From my understanding, your setup is per factory spec.

I have the same set up as KY. I think you would be fine as our set up or top hole on the bracket and 2nd hole on the motor .

1999 seafarer, 225 ox66,Bimini top, Powertec 4 blade 15 pitch. Top speed 41mph 5600rpm, cruise 28mph,fuel economy 2 mpg., engine and bracket on the 1st hole. E30F5129-E900-4786-B4DB-CFBC870BFF96.jpeg

If I was you I would lift the engine one hole especially if you use the boat on calm water . You will get more speed for given RPM and better fuel burn.
Mine is factory second hole but I have different bracket to you. My motor is further back from the transom.

Thanks for the suggestion I might try it when our season is over. I boat in Northern California so our seas are not the calmest.

Its worth it to try. It should only take 20-30mins to move it up or down. General rule of thumb.... Anti Cavitation plate should be 1 inch higher then the bottom of the hull for every 1 foot the engine is moved back. 3 ft bracket. 3 inches up. Weight distribution, load, even amount of fuel in the boat is all going to change. no way to know where your sweet spot is without some trial and error.

From what I understand rule of thumb is put a level on the bottom of your boat. for every 12 inches bracket length you raise your motor 1 inch. example 24 inch bracket offset cavitation plate is 2 inches above the bottom of your hull
