one of my favorite threads here was one of the music folks enjoy listening to while heading out, trolling or cruising and just hanging out on the sandbar smoehwere. I have almost 3,500 songs on my ipod and perhaps one day I will put XM on the boat for music, but until then my ipod will do. I finally this winter started making my boat playlist versus just putting the thing on random or a particular artist.

My playlist includes artist like James Buffet, Zac Brown, Mumford and Sons, Little Big Town, Bruce, the Jovi, Aerosmith and fun 80s music of course. I picked up some new music my kids like such as Imagine Dragons and added it to the list as well. I cant wait for spring and summer that is for sure. Any new music you guys might suggest for the boat or you enjoy listening to?

sounds like a great play list. I'm installing a Fusion radio as we speak. This past summer unfortunately I don't listen to much music while fishing due to the fact most of the other cursing trips I have my wife with her friends and my young daughter and her two 13 year old friends. The music they play make me want to bring ear plugs. :dance :dance :dance :dance :dance

I performed music for a living for 30+ years. I'm totally tired of it and the only thing I listen to aboard my Grady is the VHF radio and the waves lapping against the hullsides.

Magic, I understand completely. I enjoy listening to it and when I troll it sometimes gets boring and on the lake we enjoy it playing in the background. I will radio fish when get to where I want to wet a line to see what folks might be reporting and so forth. Gradywhite248, that is why you are the captain my friend to control the music (lol).

That said, I understand why others want to have tunes aboard. Music is a magical thing with compelling powers. it takes you to a special place when it's a song from your past. Some songs are just so good they don't need to be part of your history and they stand alone.
My choice to distance myself from it stems from all the songs I had to play that I didn't like in order to make folks dance and motivate them. That's what I got paid for. I had to take my personal emotion out of the equation and play Black Eyed Peas and Lady GaGa nonsense to get the nite moving. When I cast off the lines, the last thing I wanted to hear was any music at all and that has stuck with me.

Now, I'll get out of the way and let you get the musical consensus you are after before I butted in.

Yeah I do get it Bill. It is like taking your work with you to sea when you are trying to leave it all the dock. I fish because I like to eat it but I must say even if thr fishing is thin, the day on the water is worth its weight in fuel or gold (lol). But hey, the black eyed peas helped buy your solitude (lol) which is kind of cool and ironic at the same time..get it loud dance music you hate =quiet day on the water kind of thing.

Y'know, I never thought of it that way. I guess all those dance tunes did buy my water time. Neat...

When the troll is slow, we crank up the bass with Black Eyed Peas or some other that has good consistent rythm, then the bite is back on!

I swear it really does work!
