Replacing my 10 year old Lowrance. Any recommendations as to state of the art, best bang for the buck units appreciated. Primarily salt water bay/ocean environment... :hmm

Last year I bought a Simrad GO7. Love it. Got it at West Marine for around $500.

I've got the Garmin 741xs with chirp transducer that I'm very happy with. Accurate charting and really good strong depth / fishfinder readings.

I too have GO7XSE with Totalscan. For the money it's a great unit. Spend the extra $100 or so and get a Navionics chip.

I was a Furuno guy for years.... But now its hard to beat the performance and simplicity of Garmin.
