Happy 4th all, I need a little guidance and possibly some reassurance. I'm looking to replace my broken transom mount xducer with a thru-hull. I think I've decided on an Airmar B-60 20⁰ based on budget and what appears to be ease of install.
I am very handy and have confidence I can do the project but the thought of drilling a hole below the water line in the bottom of my hull scares the bejesus out of me. So I guess I'm looking for some " it's an easy project, go for it", "put your big boy pants on and grab your drill".
Also I would like advise on sealant. I've read you may not want to use 5200 in the event you ever need to pull it but I know 5200 is rated for below water line use. Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated.
Again Happy 4th
PS it's a 05 300 Marlin.
