Hi,
I am purchasing a 2001 Advance 247 with a single Yamaha 250 OX66 engine.
I would like to hear from some owners with this configuration. What cruise RPM's and speed to expect? Also, I need to get a trailer any recommendations? I am looking for the original specifications.
Any info is appreciated. This will be my second Grady. Looking forward to getting on the water again!

Your first call for a trailer should be to Owens and Sons in St Pete. They will have the specs for your boat and will custom build a trailer that fits it like a glove. 727-323-1088.

I have/had the same setup, re-powering this week with Yamaha 115's SHO's. The OX66 is thirsty beast but never had a problem with it, closing in on a 1,000hrs. Depending on sea conditions the burn rate varied considerably. I mainly use the boat for trolling and runs to the grounds are only a couple miles so not sure exactly where the cruise is, but my estimate was between 3500-3800 rpm at 25knts. Trolling between 2300-2500 (7-10knts) I was around 1.5-2 mpg (maybe more but i didn't want to think about it). Run it hard at the end of the day to keep the carbon down and use ring free at every fill up. Also you'll want to keep the cruise under 4K once you go over the fuel consumption will skyrocket.

There's a Yamaha performance bulletin for this boat and engine floating around somewhere, I'll see if I have it saved somewhere.

The hull truth has some good threads on that engine https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/22502-yamaha-250-ox66.html

Congrats on the new boat

Thanks Stimp. I will check the links. I wonder if a 4 blade prop would be more efficient.
